Latvian tennis star Jeļena Ostapenko earned 120 WTA doubles ranking points after reaching the second round of the tournament. Ostapenko and her American partner will now face Russia’s Mira Andreeva and Canada’s Victoria Mboko in the next round.
Ostapenko, currently ranked No. 26 by the WTA, received a bye in the first round of the singles competition. She then defeated American Katie Volynets (WTA 98) with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (7:5). The Indian Wells tournament is being played on hard courts.
