Latvian Band “Otra Puse” to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Special Concert

Latvian musical group “Otra Puse” will perform a special Valentine’s Day concert, “Tā esi tu” (That’s You), on Saturday, February 14th at 7:00 PM at the “Jūras vārti” (Sea Gate) Theatre in Ventspils.

Valentine’s Day concerts have become a tradition for “Otra Puse,” and this performance continues that legacy. The band’s lineup for the concert will feature its core members: vocalist Normunds Pauniņš and keyboardist Ivars Makstnieks, along with Mārtiņš Linde on drums, Jānis Čubars on guitar, and Mārtiņš Burkevics on bass, who have been consistent members in recent years.

The concert program is specifically curated for the occasion, featuring love songs spanning the group’s entire history. The setlist includes both rarely performed tracks like “Tev tuvoties” (To Acquire Closer to You), “Jūtu ceļotājs” (Traveler of Feelings), and “Asaras par dimantiem” (Tears for Diamonds), as well as well-known hits such as “Es Tev” (I To You), “Ieskaties” (Glance Inside), “Dievs dod” (God Give), “Savādā” (Different), “Uzzīmē mani” (Draw Me), and “Pēc lietus” (After the Rain). A performance of the band’s “100.debija” song, “Man dimantu nav” (I Don’t Have Diamonds), is also planned, along with “Vēstules” (Letters), considered “Otra Puse’s” anthem of love.

“Otra Puse” has been active since 1992 and has released six albums, including a remix album and a Christmas album, “Piparkūku sirsniņa” (Gingerbread Heart), as well as a double album of their best songs, “Labākās dziesmas. Notis. Vārdi” (Best Songs. Notes. Words). Two of their albums – “Nakts vai rīts” (Night or Morning) in 2009 and “Uzzīmē mani” (Draw Me) in 2013 – won the Latvian Music Award for best pop album. The song “Ave pali,” a duet with Aija Andrejeva, topped the “Muzikālā banka” (Musical Bank) charts in 2011, and “Uzzīmē mani,” featuring Antra Stafecka, was the second most popular song on “Muzikālā banka” in 2013. In 2022, the band celebrated its 30th anniversary with concerts throughout Latvia. Their latest album, “Sākums” (Beginning), was released on November 8, 2024.

Tickets for the concert at “Jūras vārti” Theatre are available at all “Biļešu paradīzes” (Ticket Paradise) sales locations and online at bilesuparadize.lv.

Photography and video filming may occur during the event. The resulting materials will be used for promotional purposes on the “Jūras vārti” Theatre’s website and social media accounts.
