Wednesday proved to be a brutal day of racing at Paris-Nice, with twelve riders forced to withdraw from the competition. No riders finished outside of the time limit, however.

Among the most notable withdrawals was race leader Juan Ayuso, but several other climbers similarly faltered. UAE Team Emirates saw their key rider Brandon McNulty abandon the race, while Uno-X will continue without climber Torstein Traeen. Even Jonas Vingegaard’s team suffered a blow, as his domestique Davide Piganzoli was forced to leave Paris-Nice.
