David Pastrňák recorded an assist but couldn’t prevent the Boston Bruins from falling to the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The loss came despite a strong performance from Pastrňák, who now has 96 points on the season.

Mackie Samoskevich and Sam Bennett gave Florida an early 2-0 lead in the first period. Boston responded late in the first frame when Fraser Minten scored off a rebound following a Pastrňák assist. However, Sergei Bobrovskij, the Panthers’ goaltender, shut down the Bruins for the remainder of the game, making 28 saves and earning the game’s first star.

Pastrňák’s point total for the season now stands at 29 goals and 67 assists. Pavel Zacha, a Bruins teammate, was held scoreless in his second of the last eleven games.

Defenseman Mikuláš Hovorka also saw action for the Panthers, playing eleven minutes and blocking one shot. Tomáš Nosek was also a part of the winning side for Florida.

In other NHL action on Thursday, the Vancouver Canucks rallied to grab a 2-1 lead in their game against the Minnesota Wild, thanks in part to a Filip Hronek assist. Hronek’s shot from the blue line was deflected and then put in by Jake DeBrusk during a power play. However, Minnesota ultimately prevailed with a 5-2 victory, fueled by two goals each from Matt Boldy and Ryan Hartman.
