Latvian distance skier Patrīcija Eiduka completed a strong season on the World Cup circuit, finishing within the top 30 in 17 of her 22 starts. The Baltic nation’s leading skier similarly secured six top-20 finishes throughout the season, demonstrating consistent performance on the international stage.
Eiduka achieved a 26th-place overall ranking in the World Cup, 25th in the distance standings, and 28th in the sprint competition. While she didn’t reach the top ten in any event this season, her results represent a significant achievement, especially considering a challenging period with overtraining last year. This consistency – 17 top-30s and six top-20s – marks a fantastic result for Latvian distance skiing, a level of success unmatched in recent history.
This season, Eiduka’s best sprint result was a 28th-place finish, a career high for the Latvian athlete. Her previous best overall World Cup finish came in 2024, when she placed 17th, and her highest distance ranking was 18th in 2023.
Eiduka showcased her talent at the Olympic Games, achieving two top-20 finishes: 15th place in the 10km event and 11th place in the 50km race. These results represent the highest achievements in Latvian Olympic skiing history.
