Philips Hue has released a software update for its battery-powered accessories, aiming to improve the accuracy of battery status reporting. The update, version 67.116.1/2.85.1/2.85.5, began rolling out to users on February 16, 2026, and applies to devices like the Hue Smart Wireless Dimmer Switch V2 (available from Amazon).
According to the release notes, the update addresses a bug affecting the Philips Hue motion sensor, resolving an issue where low sensitivity settings weren’t functioning as intended. This latest release follows a previous update in December 2024 that included minor bug fixes.
The update doesn’t apply to Philips Hue security cameras. Beyond the motion sensor fix, the software includes other unspecified bug repairs and minor improvements. Accurate battery reporting is a key feature for smart home devices, allowing users to proactively manage their systems and avoid unexpected outages.
Eligible users should receive the update automatically through the Philips Hue app. To ensure automatic updates are enabled, navigate to Settings > Software Update > Automatic Update within the app. Recent updates from Philips Hue demonstrate the company’s commitment to refining the user experience and addressing reported issues within its smart lighting ecosystem.
