Rising badminton star Pichamon Ophasnipitak fell just short of capturing the Orleans Masters 2026 title on Sunday, March 22, suffering a defeat to veteran Nozomi Okuhara in the women’s singles final. Okuhara, a former World Champion in 2017 and Olympic bronze medalist from the 2016 Games, proved too strong for the 27th-ranked Ophasnipitak, winning in straight sets 21-15, 21-15.

The loss denied “Nong Pink” her first championship of 2026, and continues her quest for a Super 300 World Tour title. She previously secured victories at the Malaysia Super 100 in 2023 and the Baoji China Masters Super 100 event in 2025.

Okuhara claimed the $18,000 winner’s prize, along with 7,000 world ranking points. Ophasnipitak received $9,120 and 5,950 ranking points as the runner-up.
