A new collaboration is bringing PlayStation gaming directly into the driver’s seat. Sony Honda Mobility has confirmed that the Afeela 1 will be the world’s first vehicle with built-in PS Remote Play capabilities, allowing drivers and passengers to stream games from their PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 consoles.

The announcement, made on March 1, 2026, builds on a prototype unveiled in January 2024 that featured an ultrawide screen and PlayStation controller compatibility. The Afeela 1 will enable seamless PS5 game streaming directly to the car’s infotainment system – eliminating the necessitate for external screens or phones. This integration represents a significant step toward transforming the in-car experience, offering entertainment options during downtime.

PS Remote Play connects to a home console via the internet. Users will need a DualSense controller and a stable internet connection – Sony recommends at least 15 Mbit/s, with a minimum of 5 Mbit/s for functionality – to play games on the car’s display. The feature is designed for use while the vehicle is parked.

Beyond gaming, the Afeela 1 will also offer a unique audio experience. The vehicle features Zonal Sound, creating three independent audio zones, allowing passengers to enjoy different content simultaneously without disturbing one another. A 28-speaker sound system, designed by Sony based on acoustic modeling, will further enhance the experience.

Sony has prioritized audio quality in the Afeela 1’s design from the outset. The company stated that the vehicle is “designed around sound from day one.”

The news comes amid reports of a slowdown in PlayStation 5 sales, according to ITavisen. Still, the Afeela 1 demonstrates Sony’s continued innovation within the gaming ecosystem and its exploration of new markets.

Separately, Xiaomi recently unveiled its Vision GT, a 900V electric supercar boasting up to 1,900 horsepower, as part of the Gran Turismo program, ITavisen reported.
