Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand is preparing to launch the X8 Pro, with recent certifications revealing key specifications for the upcoming smartphone. The device is expected to arrive as a global version of the Redmi Turbo 5, bringing a competitive new option to the mid-range market.
According to a report by GSMarena, the Poco X8 Pro will feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,840Hz PWM, and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The phone is anticipated to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset and will offer configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, as detailed in a blog post by Heyupnow.
The Poco X8 Pro is expected to sport a dual-camera system on the rear, consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. A 20-megapixel front-facing camera will handle selfie duties. The device has been spotted in South Korea’s RRA certification database with the model number 2511FPC34G, which is also associated with a Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Limited Edition in Thailand.
In addition to the standard X8 Pro, Xiaomi is also preparing the X8 Pro Max, which is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Notebookcheck reports that the X8 Pro Max has surfaced at regulatory bodies including the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore, and Indonesia’s TKDN. The X8 Pro Max is rumored to include an 8,500 mAh battery and could retail for around €529 (approximately $460).
The launch of these devices signals Xiaomi’s continued strategy of bringing compelling features to a wider audience through its Poco brand. The focus on high refresh rate displays and powerful chipsets demonstrates a commitment to delivering a premium user experience in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
