The 2025/2026 ski jumping season is nearing its conclusion, with three major events on the calendar: the World Flight Championships, the Winter Olympic Games, and the Junior World Championships. Poland enjoyed particular success at the Olympic competition held in Predazzo.
Kacper Tomasiak unexpectedly claimed three medals in Predazzo, securing two individual medals – a silver and a bronze – and a silver in the team event alongside Pawel Wasiek. Shortly after, Tomasiak traveled to Lillehammer, Norway, for the Junior World Championships, where he battled Austria’s Stephan Embacher for gold, ultimately finishing as the runner-up.
Immediately following the junior competition, Tomasiak headed to Lahti, Finland, for a World Cup event. However, the Junior World Championships were still underway. On Saturday, the men’s team competition took place, with the Polish team finishing a strong fifth. Konrad Tomasiak, Kacper’s younger brother, led the Polish jumpers individually, raising hopes for his inclusion in Sunday’s mixed team event.
Konrad did not compete, and the Polish team for the mixed event consisted of Pola Bełtowska, Łukasz Łukaszczyk, Ewa Frączek, and Kamil Waszek. The trial round didn’t inspire confidence, as they finished in 13th place.
Poland Falls Short, Eliminated After First Round
The competition didn’t improve for the Polish squad. Bełtowska delivered a solid jump of 94 meters, while Łukaszczyk landed at 85.5 meters, and Frączek managed 58.5 meters. Despite a strong effort from Waszek (93.5m), Poland was eliminated after the first round. With a total of 363 points, the team finished ahead of only Italy, Ukraine, Canada, and Romania, claiming 13th position.
Slovenia emerged victorious in the mixed team event, followed by Austria in second and Germany in third.
