Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his nation’s commitment to maintaining amicable relations and fostering friendships with countries around the globe. He emphasized Indonesia’s policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations.
“Under my leadership and that of all my administration, the Indonesian people are determined to maintain friendship and good relations with all nations, with all countries, with all powers. We do not want to interfere in the internal affairs of any country. We respect all powers in the world, both large and small,” Prabowo stated during a Nuzulul Quran event at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Prabowo explained that this stance aligns with the principles established by Indonesia’s founding fathers. He added that the approach is also consistent with the teachings of religious leaders who stress the importance of preserving peace.

Prabowo noted that maintaining peace requires more than just prayer and hope, but also dedicated effort and hard work to achieve prosperity and justice for all citizens.
“Of course, maintaining peace is not simply a matter of praying and hoping, but also of striving, of working hard to achieve prosperity and justice. We realize that it is not possible for good things to fall from the sky without effort and hard work from all of us. We have been blessed by Almighty God with immense wealth,” he said.
During the event, Prabowo also underscored the importance of collective efforts to eradicate poverty, hunger, and suffering. He stressed that no citizen should be left behind.
“On this occasion, I would like to reiterate that we must strive to eliminate poverty, hunger, and suffering from all our people. We must not allow any of our people to be neglected. We are capable, we have been given sufficient wealth by Almighty God. Now it is the leaders who must work well,” he stated.
Prabowo emphasized his commitment to combating corruption and abuse of power within the government. He described corruption as an act prohibited by all religions and an impediment to a nation’s progress.
“I thank Professor Quraish Shihab for that. Thank you for your support, for everyone’s support. We must eliminate corruption, abuse of power, all practices that are not right and not good that are prohibited by all religions. That is the teaching of religion, that is also the teaching of history,” he said.
“No country succeeds when its government is unable to cleanse itself of corruption. This is a teaching of religion and history. We must not be defeated by those who want to accept the wealth of the people, take it to other countries, and preserve the Indonesian nation in a weak state,” he continued.
