President Prabowo Subianto marked the Idulfitri holiday by reaching out to leaders across the Muslim world, extending greetings and reaffirming diplomatic ties. The outreach underscores Indonesia’s commitment to regional cooperation and its role as a key player in the global Muslim community.
According to a statement released Monday, March 23, 2026, President Subianto spoke with several heads of state, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The communications were part of a series of calls made to foster goodwill during the festive season.
The Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat shared details of the calls via its official Instagram account, @sekretariat.kabinet. “Today, Monday, March 23, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto continued communicating, offering Idulfitri greetings via telephone to leaders of friendly Muslim nations,” the post stated.

In addition to Abbas and Anwar Ibrahim, President Subianto also spoke with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed.
“These communications serve as prayers and hopes for maintaining closeness, support, and strengthening cooperation between nations, especially during this meaningful holiday,” the Cabinet Secretariat said in its statement.
President Subianto previously extended Idulfitri greetings by phone to Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, according to the statement.
