PlayStation 5 Pro owners will soon have access to an upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), offering enhanced image stability, improved clarity, and more consistent performance across supported titles. The update allows users to apply the new PSSR to existing compatible games, though results may vary, and the feature can be disabled if issues arise.
Sony announced on March 16, 2026, that more games will integrate the upgraded PSSR in the near future, including titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED. The company stated, “The new PSSR represents another step in our commitment to improving the gaming experience on the PS5 Pro console. Most new games will fully support the new PSSR in the future, bringing players improvements in both image quality and performance.”

The rollout of PSSR enhancements comes as game developers increasingly leverage AI-driven upscaling technologies to deliver higher fidelity visuals without sacrificing performance. This latest iteration of PSSR aims to provide developers with greater flexibility in balancing visual quality and frame rates on the PS5 Pro.
