Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly offered to facilitate medical treatment in Moscow for the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader, according to an unnamed source speaking to a Kuwaiti publication. The offer was made during a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on March 10, 2026.

The same evening, the source said, the Supreme Leader was transported from Iran to Moscow via a Russian military aircraft. Following his arrival, the Supreme Leader underwent what was described as a “successful” operation and is currently recovering in a specialized clinic located at one of Putin’s residences.

The evacuation to Moscow was prompted not only by challenges in providing adequate care amid ongoing conflict, but as well by perceived threats from Israel against the life of the Supreme Leader’s son, the source added. Iranian intelligence agencies reportedly feared that information regarding his location could be compromised through medical personnel involved in his treatment.

Another source from “Al Jarida” indicated doubts surrounding the authenticity of an initial statement attributed to the Supreme Leader’s son. According to this source, the text may have been drafted by Ali Laridjani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, due to its close alignment with several of his previous public statements.

The statement reportedly attributed to the Supreme Leader’s son declared that Iran would continue its conflict with the United States and maintain its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for approximately 20% of global oil supplies. This development underscores the complex geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and the ongoing tensions between Iran and the West.
