Report Links Putin to Wealth Accumulation by Real Estate Investor

A Russian real estate investor, Svetlana Krivonogikh, has been linked to President Vladimir Putin in reports detailing significant financial assets and properties, raising questions about potential influence and favoritism. The revelations approach from investigations published in 2020 and 2021, adding to scrutiny surrounding the financial dealings of those connected to the Russian leader.

Born on March 10, 1975, in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg, Svetlana Alexandrovna Krivonogikh is a millionaire who reportedly benefited from connections to Putin and his associates, according to a Wikipedia entry. She graduated from Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in 2000 with a degree in International Economic Relations.

Krivonogikh’s name surfaced following a 2020 investigation by Proekt, which documented her ties to Putin and detailed her holdings. Further scrutiny came with the release of the Pandora Papers in October 2021, revealing her assets held overseas. Proekt estimated the total value of her business assets and properties in Moscow and St. Petersburg at USD 102 million.

The Proekt report also alleged that Krivonogikh’s daughter, Elizaveta (also known as Luiza Rozova), born on March 3, 2003, has Putin as her father. The investigation claims Krivonogikh’s relationship with Putin began in the 1990s, when she worked as a cleaner and lived in communal housing before relocating to residences favored by St. Petersburg’s elite.

The findings contribute to ongoing discussions about wealth and power dynamics within Russia and could potentially influence future investigations into the financial networks surrounding the Kremlin.
