Montréal-Based PixMob Illuminates Global Sporting Stages

Montréal-based lighting company PixMob is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of high-profile appearances on the world’s biggest sporting stages, including the Super Bowl and the Olympic Games. The company’s innovative technology is designed to actively involve audiences in the spectacle of live events.

Most recently, PixMob’s technology lit up the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, marking the company’s third participation in the Games. This follows a successful deployment of their technology at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics and during Coldplay’s 2024 tour.

PixMob has a long-standing relationship with the Super Bowl, having collaborated on eight previous events. The company’s portable, synchronized lighting technology allows audiences to become part of the show. According to Charles Troung, Vice President of Product Development, PixMob’s technology can transform badges into cameras or even footballs, offering a dynamic experience for event attendees.

Pauline Rosen, Vice President of Marketing at PixMob, demonstrated the technology used at the Milan Olympics, highlighting the “X4” product – a four-LED bracelet worn by 65,000 people to create stunning visual effects. The team also created an artistic installation focused on solidarity, utilizing vibrant colors and wave patterns to enhance the show’s creativity.

Despite the increasing scale of their productions, PixMob maintains its core objective: to foster a sense of connection among audiences. The company’s success underscores the growing demand for immersive and interactive experiences at major sporting events.

PixMob’s contributions have also been recognized closer to home, with a special illumination of the Samuel De Champlain Bridge to celebrate the first day of competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
