Ubisoft has officially launched its highly anticipated tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Mobile, for Android and iOS platforms worldwide. The game, a mobile adaptation of the popular console and PC franchise Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, arrives as a direct competitor to Activision’s Call of Duty Mobile, offering a similar gameplay experience.
The game became available for download on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, via the Play Store for Android devices and the App Store for iOS, according to reports. This launch marks a significant expansion of the Rainbow Six universe, bringing its strategic, team-based gameplay to a broader mobile audience.
Users will require at least 3 GB of storage space to download the game, which weighs in at 3 GB. For Android users, a device with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM and Android 9 or a newer operating system is required.
For iOS users, the game requires at least iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 16 or later and a device with at least an A12 Bionic chip.
Rainbow Six Mobile is a free-to-play game featuring 5v5 Player vs Player (PvP) matches in the core “Attack vs Defense” mode. Attackers can utilize drones for reconnaissance, gathering intelligence, and breaching destructible walls, floors, and defensive layers. Defenders, meanwhile, can reinforce entry points, deploy surveillance cameras, and set traps to secure the area.
Ubisoft emphasized that despite being designed specifically for mobile devices, the game retains the core “DNA” of the Rainbow Six series, prioritizing strategy, teamwork, tension, and high-stakes decision-making. The game similarly includes modes such as “Bomb,” “Bomb Rush,” and “Team Deathmatch.”
Players can choose from over 20 iconic Rainbow Six characters, including Ash, Mute, and Dokkaebi, and battle across classic maps like Bank, Border, Clubhouse, Oregon, and Villa, alongside mobile-exclusive locations like Restaurant, and Summit. The release demonstrates a growing trend of major gaming franchises expanding into the mobile market to reach wider audiences.
Ubisoft plans to introduce new content with each season, which typically lasts several months. The inaugural season accompanying the global launch of Rainbow Six Mobile is titled “Operation Sand Wraith,” featuring desert-themed content, new weapons, and characters.
