Tributes Pour In Following Passing of Raúl Jiménez’s Father
News has emerged that the father of Mexico national team star Raúl Jiménez has passed away after a long illness. The Fulham forward’s father died on the night of March 11, 2026, due to health complications he had been battling for months.
Despite his condition, Raúl Jiménez’s father consistently supported his son, attending Mexico national team trips to watch his son perform. The elder Jiménez was known for closely following his son’s career and offering encouragement.
In a 2025 Gold Cup interview with ESPN, the late Raúl Jiménez Sr. Expressed his hope to spot his son score in the upcoming World Cup. He was a constant source of support during his son’s recovery from a serious head injury sustained in November 2020, remaining by his side throughout his rehabilitation and eventual return to the Selección Mexicana.
The elder Jiménez resided in Mexico City but frequently traveled to Tepejí del Río, the hometown of the Fulham attacker and former Wolverhampton player.
