A fire in a Regensdorf parking garage on Saturday caused significant damage, impacting dozens of vehicles and forcing the closure of a local shopping center. Authorities estimate that up to 80 cars sustained damage from the blaze and resulting smoke.

The fire, reported around 7 a.m. On February 14, 2026, originated in the underground parking structure of the Zentrum Regensdorf shopping center. Smoke spread throughout the parking garage, affecting approximately 80 vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The financial toll from the incident is expected to reach several hundred thousand Swiss francs.

Shopping Center Temporarily Closed

Due to the fire and subsequent smoke, the Zentrum Regensdorf was forced to close its doors during regular business hours on Saturday. The center remained closed for several hours while firefighters completed their work and the garage’s ventilation system was cleared of smoke. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Zurich Canton Police in collaboration with the Canton of Zurich Public Prosecutor’s Office.
