Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home was targeted in a shooting on Sunday, March 8, with a 30-year-classic woman now in custody and facing attempted murder charges, according to reports.
Authorities say the suspect fired between seven and ten shots at the singer’s property from a vehicle across the street. At least one bullet struck a wall of the house, while others damaged a fence and a camper on the driveway. Fortunately, Rihanna was home at the time of the shooting but was not injured.
The woman was apprehended approximately twelve kilometers from Rihanna’s residence, at a shopping center parking lot. Police discovered a firearm and seven spent shell casings inside her white Tesla. Her motive remains unknown.
The suspect is currently being held on over $10 million bail, NU.nl reported.
News of the incident comes less than a year after Rihanna welcomed her third child with A$AP Rocky, named Rocki, joining sons Riot and RZA. The couple shares a home in Beverly Hills, where the shooting took place, AD.nl detailed.
Rihanna has not yet publicly commented on the shooting.
The incident underscores the increasing security concerns faced by high-profile celebrities, and the investigation is ongoing. Cosmopolitan has been following the story as it develops.
A Dutch report also noted disturbing statements made by the suspect, suggesting she believed God would lead her to her future if Rihanna died.
