Rihanna’s Los Angeles Home Targeted in Shooting, Woman Arrested

Los Angeles police arrested a Florida woman Sunday after multiple shots were fired at the Beverly Crest home of singer Rihanna, hip-hop star A$AP Rocky, and their three children. No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Ivanna Ortiz, 35, was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder, police said. She was arrested about three miles away in Sherman Oaks following a traffic stop, and is currently being held on $10 million bond. The shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. On Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Investigators say between seven and nine rounds were fired at the residence with what has been described as an AR-15-style rifle. Even as multiple rounds struck the exterior of the home and a parked vehicle, none penetrated inside, ABC News reported.

Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their children were home at the time of the incident, officials confirmed. A motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.

According to NBC Los Angeles, Brittany Hope reported on the arrest for NBC4 News at 11 a.m. On Monday, March 9, 2026. Police followed Ortiz’s Tesla with an LAPD helicopter to a mall parking garage, where she was detained by patrol units.

The incident underscores the challenges faced by high-profile figures in maintaining security, and privacy. Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy winner and cultural icon, also holds the distinction of being a National Hero in her home country of Barbados.
