Rio de Janeiro residents are invited to kickstart a healthy routine after Carnival celebrations with a free “Hangover Relief” fitness event on February 28, 2026. The event, hosted by the State of Rio de Janeiro’s Secretariat of Sports and Leisure, aims to encourage physical activity and well-being in the days following the festive period.
The “Aulão de Ressaca de Carnaval” – Portuguese for “Hangover Carnival Workout” – will grab place from 8 a.m. To 12 p.m. At the Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park. Approximately 400 people are expected to participate, including adult students of the park, children enrolled in classes such as artistic gymnastics, ballet, and Jiu-Jitsu, and one accompanying family member per student.
“The workout is a way to invite our students and their families to resume their routine with energy, health, and joy,” said Rodrigo Scorzelli, Secretary of Sports and Leisure of the State of Rio de Janeiro. “After the holiday period, This proves essential to reinforce the importance of physical activity as a tool for well-being and quality of life. Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park is a democratic space for coexistence and integration, and actions like this further strengthen the bonds between students, families, and the sports community.”
Adult participants will be required to take part in both a land-based and a water-based activity. Options include Hydrogymnastics, Swimming, and Functional Training. Participants should arrive dressed appropriately for exercise.
Children will enjoy a dedicated space with recreational and playful activities, including inflatable toys, sports recreation, and games led by monitors. Comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity is recommended for children.
The event will feature food stations offering snacks and refreshments throughout the morning, along with a stage, sound system, lighting, a DJ, tables, chairs, recreation staff, sports equipment, and prizes. Organizers have emphasized their commitment to ensuring a safe, organized, and comfortable experience for all attendees.
Registration is required and must be completed online via this form by February 26, 2026. Participants must present their 2026 membership card (orange color) on the day of the event to gain entry.
