Rosalía Halts Milan Concert Due to Food Poisoning

Rosalía was forced to cut short her Milan concert Wednesday night, March 26, 2026, due to severe food poisoning. It marked the first time in her career that the Spanish superstar had to stop a show mid-performance.

“I tried to do this show. Since the beginning I’ve been sick,” the artist confessed to the audience, according to fan footage posted on social media. “I’ve had, like, really severe food poisoning and I tried to push through until the end, but I’m feeling extremely unwell,” she said.

“I’m puking out there. And I really aim for to give the best show, and I’m like on the floor trying my best,” Rosalía continued. “I’m really trying. I’m going to hold on as much as I can. But if we have to stop… it might happen if I physically can’t continue,” she added.

After saying she would try to carry on if physically possible, a visibly upset Rosalía ultimately blew a kiss to the crowd and — with a hand on her stomach — left the stage.

Rosalía, praised for her genre-defying versatility, was performing in Milan as part of her current tour, which began in France earlier in March and will conclude in Puerto Rico in September.

The singer, who won the award for best international artist at the Brit Awards this month, has received widespread acclaim for her fourth album, “Lux.” The sweeping, spiritual perform, released at the end of last year, represents a departure from her previous flamenco and R&B rhythms.

The album features lyrics sung in 13 languages, including German, English, and Sicilian, in addition to her native Spanish.

The singer will return to Portugal, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, on April 8 and 9.

The 33-year-old Grammy-winning artist had completed two of the four planned acts of her sold-out Lux Tour show at the Unipol Forum when she announced she was feeling unwell, Wanted in Milan reports. The Milan date was Rosalía’s only scheduled performance in Italy, making the abrupt ending particularly disappointing for the 11,000 fans in attendance.

Early signs of discomfort were visible during her performance of “De Madrugá,” when she was seen coughing onstage, though the concert had appeared to be proceeding smoothly up to that point, with the singer delivering nine songs in impressive form. Deccan Chronicle details the singer’s struggle to continue despite her illness.

Rosalía’s decision to prioritize her health underscores the increasing awareness of artist well-being within the music industry, and the incident is sure to spark further conversation about the pressures faced by performers on tour.
