The sandy shores of Songkhla are preparing for a high-stakes clash as the 25th S-Cola AVC Beach Tour Samila Open is set to take place from April 12-15, 2026. Scheduled to coincide with the vibrant Songkran festival, the tournament will be hosted at the scenic Samila Beach in Songkhla Province.
The event is a collaborative effort between the Thailand Volleyball Association and Songkhla Province. During a press conference held on April 7, 2026, at the Golden Tulip Soft Sofirin Hotel in Bangkok, officials outlined the scale of the upcoming competition, which continues to be a cornerstone of the beach volleyball calendar in the region.
The announcement featured several key figures, including Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Thailand Volleyball Association, and Flight Lieutenant Chanrit Wongprasert, the association’s Honorary Secretary General and Director. Also present were Mr. Somkiat Krudamrongchai, Brand Manager of ThaiDrink Co., Ltd. (representing S-Cola), Mr. Rattasart Chidchoo, Governor of Songkhla Province, Mr. Supit Pitaktham, President of the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, and Mrs. Nittaya Koedchanthuek, Director of the Office of Professional Sports, representing the Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand.
According to Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, the tournament has earned the long-term trust of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), which has consistently appointed Thailand as the host for several years. This prestige ensures that the Samila Open will attract a world-class field, featuring elite athletes from across Asia and the globe.
By blending elite international sports with the cultural energy of the Songkran holidays, the 25th edition of the tournament is expected to draw significant crowds and showcase the highest level of beach volleyball talent.
