Available in Europe This Week
According to Samsung, the feature will be rolled out gradually to the S26 series starting March 23rd. Korea will be the first market, with availability expanding to Europe and the US throughout the week of March 23rd to 29th. Additional regions, including Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan, will follow, the company says, though a specific timeframe for those regions has not yet been announced.

Once available, Samsung says the function can be found in settings under “Connected devices” > “Quick Share” > “Share with Apple devices.”
To transfer files between Android and the Apple ecosystem, Apple users must open AirDrop settings and switch to “Everyone.” Then, on the Android device, Quick Share is used to share a file and search for the desired Apple device. The process also works in reverse – in which case, “Everyone for 10 minutes” must be selected in the Quick Share settings on the Android device.

Google did not tie AirDrop interoperability to a specific system component, but instead expanded Quick Share from a system app stub to a full APK with its own Play Store entry. This development has turned AirDrop support into a full Quick Share function, allowing devices from various manufacturers to use the feature.
Chinese manufacturer Oppo also confirmed AirDrop support at MWC 2026 for its Find-X9 series. The function was “developed in close collaboration with MediaTek and Google.” The feature is expected to be rolled out gradually as part of a software update later this month.
Google initially announced AirDrop support for Android on November 21, 2025, for the Pixel 10 series and said in early February 2026 that it was working to expand the function “to the rest of the ecosystem.” Nothing and Qualcomm have also expressed interest, but a concrete timeline for further distribution is not yet available.
