The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is poised to deliver flagship-level performance, with recently leaked benchmark scores revealing the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Despite earlier rumors suggesting potential clock speed reductions, the latest tests confirm a significant performance leap for the upcoming device.

In single-core testing, the Galaxy S26 Ultra achieved a score of 3,852, while multi-core performance reached 11,738. These results notably surpass those of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which scored 3,792 and 9,831 respectively, demonstrating a clear advantage for Samsung in processing power, particularly in multi-threaded tasks. This performance gap underscores the increasing competition between the two tech giants as they push the boundaries of mobile processing.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s performance was also compared to a model utilizing Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip, built on a 2nm architecture. The Exynos 2600 scored 3,336 in single-core tests and 11,369 in multi-core tests. While still a powerful processor, it fell short of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, indicating that opting for the Qualcomm chipset in the Ultra model continues to provide a performance edge.

Interestingly, Samsung appears to have a unique ability to optimize Snapdragon chipsets for superior performance compared to other manufacturers. This was also observed with the Galaxy S25. Compared to the Vivo iQOO 15, which uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 but achieved scores of 3,479 and 10,383, the Galaxy S26 Ultra demonstrates a significant improvement, potentially due to its cooling system or software optimizations.

While official pricing remains unannounced, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to see a slight price increase reflecting the advanced technology. Based on international launch prices of around $1,299 (approximately $44,200 Thai Baht), the device represents a substantial investment for users seeking top-tier mobile performance, potentially capable of replacing laptops for certain tasks or handling graphically demanding games without issue.

These benchmark results reinforce Samsung’s reputation for delivering cutting-edge performance with Snapdragon processors. Despite ongoing efforts to improve the Exynos line, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 remains the processor of choice for those prioritizing speed and power in the upcoming Ultra model. Consumers anticipating a new device next year should prepare accordingly.
