Samsung is hosting a global gaming tournament featuring elite players competing in EA SPORTS FC™ 26 Clubs, kicking off on March 27th. The event will showcase the latest in display technology, offering fans a high-fidelity viewing experience both in-person and online.
The Samsung OLED FC tournament will see top players from four leading European football nations battle for victory. Players will compete live on stage at Samsung KX in London, starting at 7:00 p.m. (GMT), while remote competitors and fans can follow the action via the Samsung Odyssey Twitch channel. This hybrid approach allows for broad participation and engagement with the event.
OLED: Eliminating Lag and Enhancing Clarity
Samsung’s new OLED lineup is designed to elevate every moment of the tournament. On the main stage, 65- and 83-inch S90F displays will deliver 4K resolution at a 144Hz refresh rate, coupled with a 0.03ms response time for exceptionally smooth and fast-paced gameplay. This ensures every tactical maneuver is executed without delay. The technology underscores the growing importance of low-latency displays in competitive gaming.
The glare-free OLED panels, combined with AI-powered image and sound technology, guarantee viewers won’t miss critical details – from a defender’s positioning to key passing angles that separate contenders from champions.
Competitors within the Gaming Bus at Samsung KX will utilize the 27-inch G60SF OLED monitor. Boasting a 500Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, the monitor updates the image 500 times per second, providing instantaneous response to every movement.
QD-OLED technology delivers vibrant colors and 300 nits of brightness, bringing each scene to life. Samsung OLED Safeguard+ offers reliable protection against burn-in during extended gaming sessions, such as those expected during the tournament.
OLED FC: A Tournament Structure
The four teams will compete in six qualifying matches, with points awarded for wins, individual performance, teamwork and more. The top two teams will advance to a best-of-three championship final.
Meet the Teams:
Team captains will alternate between competing on the main stage at Samsung KX and within the Gaming Bus area between matches. Remote team members will support their captains and co-stream their gameplay on personal channels as part of the official Samsung Odyssey broadcast.
EA SPORTS FC™ 26 professional commentator Brandon Smith (BSmith) will co-host the event alongside Daniel Gaskin (Gaskin), the 2023 Esports Color Caster of the Year.
Dedicated gaming zones within the venue will allow attendees to experience the gameplay on the same Samsung screens powering the OLED FC tournament. Between tournament rounds, audience members will be selected to join friendly matches as additional team members, transforming spectators into active participants.
Viewers will have the opportunity to win a 500Hz 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 monitor and an 83-inch OLED S90F Smart TV during the tournament. The winner of the draw will be announced at 9:00 p.m. (GMT).
