Nearly two decades after appearing on “Let’s Dance,” singer Sandy Mölling is reflecting on her experience – and sharing some critical thoughts about judge Joachim Llambi. The former No Angels member revealed she doesn’t have fond memories of Llambi’s commentary during her 2006 run on the RTL show, where she made it to the final two.

Podcast Airs Criticism of “Let’s Dance”

Mölling opened up about her time on “Let’s Dance” during an episode of the “Recall” podcast alongside singer Senna Gammour. Gammour, known for her time in the girl group Monrose, was eliminated during the third live show of the 2021 season and said she felt disadvantaged during her participation.

No Angels star Mölling agreed with Gammour’s sentiment, specifically calling out judge Joachim Llambi. “He was really mean to you,” Mölling said, revisiting their experiences on the show.

Disappointment Despite Rigorous Training

Speaking on the podcast, co-hosted with her former Monrose bandmate Bahar Kizil, Gammour expressed her disappointment with the show. “The show totally let me down!” she said, adding that despite enjoying the intensive preparation, her journey on “Let’s Dance” ended early – she placed twelfth. “I had no chance. I was so excited about the project.”

Sandy Mölling, who placed third in the first season of “Let’s Dance” 20 years ago, chimed in, sharing her own observations about Llambi’s treatment of Gammour. “I didn’t think that was nice either,” Mölling said on the podcast, shaking her head. The two musicians did not elaborate on the specifics of their issues with the judge.

During the 14th season in 2021, viewers noticed Llambi frequently criticizing Gammour. As reported by t-online, the two had previously appeared together on “Grill den Henssler,” prompting Llambi to comment during the premiere of “Let’s Dance”: “We cooked together recently. You danced a bit with Steffen Henssler then. When I saw your name on the list, I was worried.” The comment visibly upset Gammour, who voiced her frustration in the second episode, stating, “Mr. Llambi’s remark was too much” and adding, “That’s just mean.”

“Let’s Dance” 2026: Season 19 Launch

The current 19th season of “Let’s Dance” premieres on Friday, February 27th, at 8:15 PM with a secure-to-grasp-you show, where the celebrity contestants will be paired with their professional dance partners. This year’s lineup includes:

Notably, Sandy Mölling’s No Angels bandmate Nadja Benaissa (43) is likewise joining the competition. The two will embark on a 25th-anniversary tour, “TwentyFive Live,” in 2026, including a stop in Saarland.

As always, the judging panel – Joachim Llambi, Jorge González, and Motsi Mabuse – will evaluate the performances, while Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski will host the show. Whether more contestants will speak out against Llambi after this season remains to be seen.
