8:30 PM, Friday, March 20 | Rain Subsides, But Flooding Persists in Santa Fe

Santa Fe is grappling with widespread flooding after a period of intense rainfall Friday, though the precipitation has eased temporarily. Streets in multiple areas remain inundated, disrupting traffic and daily life. The situation highlights the challenges faced by the city during periods of heavy weather.

A reporting team observed significant flooding at the intersection of Alvear and Córdoba streets, where water has completely covered the roadway, bringing traffic to a standstill. Further accumulations of water were reported in the Alvear and Pedro Centeno sectors.

City workers are actively working to clear storm drains, a task complicated by a buildup of fallen leaves. Even as the heaviest rainfall has subsided, the city remains under a complex situation with flooded streets, limited vehicle movement, and isolated reports of electrical issues.

Authorities are advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel, exercise extreme caution, and refrain from disposing of waste in the streets, as debris can further obstruct drainage systems. The forecast indicates the possibility of continued rainfall throughout the weekend.
