FOTBALL: FK Haugesund announced Wednesday afternoon on their website that Sara Berg (24) has joined the club.
Berg arrives from Bodø/Glimt and is the daughter of Norwegian football legend Runar Berg.
– Har fått et veldig godt inntrykk
– I believe Here’s the perfect place for my development right now. I wanted a change of scenery after spending my entire life in Bodø, and I’ve been very impressed with both the club and the city, Berg told fkh.no.
She has played primarily as a right-back in recent years, but is being brought in to feature centrally in midfield.
– I’m a typical combination player and enjoy being involved in building attacks, while in my role here I will also contribute to the team’s balance, says Berg, who has signed a three-year contract.
The story continues below.
– Står støtt på egne ben
Sporting director Rune Lothe also expressed his satisfaction with the signing.
– We’re very pleased to welcome Sara to us. The Berg name is strong in Norwegian football, but Sara stands on her own two feet as a football player and will be a great addition to our performance group, Lothe said, adding:
– She is a developing player who has been brought in to play the “number six” role to contribute to competition in that position within our team. That is also the preferred role she played before primarily being used as a defender at Bodø/Glimt. The change of environment will hopefully benefit her as she takes new steps as a player.
