Sassuolo delivered a dominant performance, defeating Hellas Verona 3-0 in Saturday’s Serie A clash.
The match, played at Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia, saw Verona apply early pressure, forcing Sassuolo to defend for the first 30 minutes.
Sassuolo broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Andrea Pinamonti finished off a feed from Armand Lauriente.

Just four minutes later, Domenico Berardi doubled the advantage, converting a penalty awarded after being fouled by Cheikh Niasse. Despite the initial save, Berardi followed up to score, sending Sassuolo into the break with a 2-0 lead.
The second half saw Sassuolo continue to control the tempo. Berardi completed his brace in the 62nd minute, capitalizing on a counterattack to extend the lead to 3-0 against Hellas Verona.
Trailing by three goals, Verona pushed forward in search of a response, but Amin Sarr and his teammates were unable to locate the back of the net.
Verona’s comeback hopes were further dashed when Moatasem Al Musrati received his second yellow card in the 85th minute, resulting in a red card and leaving his team to finish the match with 10 men. The final whistle blew with the scoreline remaining 3-0 in favor of Sassuolo.
The result keeps Sassuolo in eighth place in the Serie A standings with 35 points from 26 matches. Meanwhile, Hellas Verona remain at the bottom of the table with 15 points.
