RIYADH – The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched food distribution projects in Djibouti and Guinea, aiming to bolster food security for vulnerable populations across both African nations. The initiatives are part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts worldwide.

In Djibouti, KSrelief distributed 6,715 food baskets to benefit approximately 40,000 people, with the fifth phase of the project spearheaded by Saudi Ambassador Mutreq Al-Ajlaan. The aid delivery underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to addressing food insecurity in the Horn of Africa.

Separately, Saudi Ambassador Dr. Fahad Al-Rashid oversaw the distribution of 8,400 food kits in Guinea, intended to reach 50,000 beneficiaries throughout the country. These projects highlight the kingdom’s dedication to providing essential assistance to communities in need.

Established in 2015, KSrelief has become a key component of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian aid network. The organization prioritizes the delivery of food assistance to those affected by crisis and hardship. To date, KSrelief has completed over 1,150 food security projects, investing more than $2.2 billion in these efforts.

Currently, the center is providing food aid to communities in 86 countries globally, and also undertakes various development projects in 113 nations worldwide. KSrelief, a Saudi government agency, manages and coordinates relief activities internationally to ensure aid is delivered effectively. The organization’s work is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s national interests and its vision to become a leading center for humanitarian action, as detailed on its official website.

In a related initiative, on February 5, 2025, KSrelief delivered a gift of 50 tons of dates to Djibouti from Saudi Arabia, reaching the most vulnerable families, according to the Saudi Press Agency. This donation is part of a broader program by the Saudi government to support brotherly and friendly nations.

KSrelief launches major food security projects in Djibouti and Guinea for 2026, distributing thousands of food baskets to support over 90,000 vulnerable individuals as part of Saudi Arabia’s global humanitarian mission.
