Senegal Equips Police with Cameras to Enhance Roadside Checks
Senegal is implementing a new technology initiative to modernize its police force, including the deployment of 2,500 portable cameras for traffic control and the introduction of electronic payment systems. The initiative includes equipping police with cameras to document roadside interactions, a measure announced by Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, the Minister of the Interior and Public Security. This comes as part of a broader effort to combat abuses of power and corruption, according to reports.
