Police in Grand Yoff, Senegal, have arrested a second suspect in connection with a violent robbery that took place in January. The arrests reach as authorities continue to investigate an incident where a man was forcefully robbed of his motorcycle.

The second individual was taken into custody on March 4, 2026, following an investigation into the January 9-10, 2026, attack that occurred behind Idrissa Pouye Hospital, according to police reports. The initial robbery involved a violent assault and the theft of a motorcycle.

A first suspect was previously arrested and brought before the prosecutor on February 11, 2026. During questioning, that suspect identified an accomplice residing in the Patte d’Oie neighborhood. Investigators subsequently located and apprehended the second suspect at a gas station in Patte d’Oie.

While the second suspect admitted to being present at the scene on the night of the incident, he denied actively participating in the robbery, claiming he was unaware of his friend’s intentions. He is currently being held for further questioning to determine the full extent of any criminal activity. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address violent crime in the Grand Yoff area.
