Shirlyan Odette Departs TeleOnce After Five-Year Tenure to Pursue Modern Opportunities
Television journalist Shirlyan Odette Rodríguez has officially said goodbye to “Las Noticias” at TeleOnce, closing a significant chapter of her professional life. On April 8, 2026, Odette announced that her resignation is effective immediately as she moves forward to embrace new professional challenges.

“Today I close a very important chapter in my professional career. It has been nearly five years full of experiences, challenges and learning that I will always treasure,” Odette shared in an emotional social media post. “I had the privilege of being part of the growth of Las Noticias de Teleonce under the administration of Liberman Media Group from the first day and of working alongside an extraordinary team that always gave their best to bring responsible information to our people.”
During her nearly five-year tenure, the reporter played a pivotal role in the development of the news program and eventually rose to anchor “Las Noticias Ultima Edición.” In her farewell message, she expressed deep gratitude toward her colleagues and the viewing audience for their trust and support throughout her time with the network.
Odette’s exit is the latest in a series of high-profile departures that have impacted the TeleOnce newsroom over the last two years, reflecting a period of significant transition for the network. This wave of exits includes other journalists such as Luisa Benítez, Jamiebeth González, Kelvin Meléndez, Adriana Rozas, Yarimar Marrero, Isaac Rosado, Elsa Velázquez, Ariana Franco, Tatiana Ortiz, and Camille Cruz.
While the specific details of her next venture remain under wraps, Odette confirmed that she has accepted a new job opportunity that aligns with her goals to say goodbye to TeleOnce. As she puts it, “Now it’s time to keep growing, dreaming and looking for new opportunities.”
