Skoda Superb: Half of Production for Turkey – 2025 Success & EV Plans

Skoda Auto is prioritizing the Turkish market, dedicating half of its Superb sedan production capacity to the country, according to statements from the automaker’s CEO. The move underscores the importance of Turkey as a key market for the Czech car manufacturer.

The company reported a record financial and operational performance in 2025, with revenues reaching €30.1 billion and operating profit totaling €2.5 billion. Skoda surpassed the one million vehicle sales mark for the first time in six years, achieving global sales of 1,043,900 units. The brand has risen to become the third best-selling manufacturer in Europe and one of the fastest-growing.

Focus on the Turkish Market and the Superb Model

Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer stated, “We are sending half of the production of our Superb sedan model to Turkey. This vehicle was almost developed for Turkey.” The company’s success in the region is also attributed to the strong performance of its Turkish distributor, Yüce Auto, in customer satisfaction. Zellmer also indicated a strategic shift towards increased focus on markets in India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, as growth opportunities in Europe become more limited.

Expanding Electric Vehicle Offerings

According to CNBCE, Skoda’s deliveries of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles more than doubled in 2025, reaching 218,700 units. Currently, one in four Skoda vehicles sold in Europe features an electric powertrain. Building on the success of the Elroq and Enyaq models, the company plans to launch the compact electric Epiq and seven-seater Peaq models in 2026.

Flexibility as a Key to Success

Zellmer emphasized that “flexibility” is central to the company’s success. Skoda’s ability to produce both electric and internal combustion engine models on the same production line allows it to quickly respond to changing market demands. The company aims to double its all-electric product range in 2026, bolstering its competitive position. This strategy reflects a broader industry trend toward adaptable manufacturing processes as automakers navigate the transition to electric vehicles.
