BRATISLAVA – Diesel prices at Slovak gas stations rose nearly two cents per liter in the sixth week of the year, reaching their highest level since the complete of November 2025. Gasoline prices remained relatively stable. Among fuels, liquefied natural gas (LNG) saw the largest price increase, rising by €1.7 per kilogram. However, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic reported Friday that filling up remained, on average, 6% cheaper than the same period last year.
Diesel and gasoline prices are now nearly equivalent – a situation not seen in approximately two years, in 2024. Diesel was selling for €1.466, an increase of 1.8 cents from the previous week.

Premium diesel also increased by the same amount, selling for €1.668 per liter. The price of 95-octane gasoline rose by 0.1 cent to €1.474, while 98-octane gasoline decreased by 0.4 cents to €1.680 per liter.

Fluctuations in Gas Prices
Gas prices at the beginning of February 2026 showed varying changes. Statisticians recorded the most significant change in LNG, which rose by 1.7 cents to €1.520 per kilogram. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices increased slightly by two-tenths of a cent to €0.676 per liter. Compressed natural gas (CNG) remained unchanged for five weeks, costing €1.474 per kilogram.
Alternative fuel bioLNG remained at the same level as previous weeks, costing €1.783 per kilogram. Hydrogen remained unchanged at €21.60 per kilogram. Electricity for charging electric vehicles was sold at unchanged prices: alternating current (AC – up to 22 kW) at €0.41 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), fast charging (DC – up to 150 kW) at €0.55 per kWh, and ultra-fast charging (DC – over 150 kW) at €0.69 per kWh.
