The agreement, originally set to expire in 2028, has been extended by four years to 2032.
“This extension of our agreement with SVT through 2032 allows us to work long-term and continue developing SM-veckan as one of Sweden’s largest annual sporting events,” said Mattias Hjelmberg, acting Secretary General of the Swedish Sports Confederation.
Reached 2.6 Million Viewers
SM-veckan has grown over the years into one of Sweden’s most popular sporting events, with broadcasts from the 2025 Winter Week reaching 2.6 million viewers on SVT. The multi-sport event showcases the breadth of Swedish athletics and brings together some of the nation’s biggest sports stars.
“SM-veckan is a cornerstone of SVT’s sports programming, a powerful sporting manifestation twice a year that shows both the breadth of Swedish sport and some of the biggest Swedish sports profiles side by side. We are pleased to have extended our agreement for SM-veckan in SVT all the way to 2032,” said Max Bursell, Head of SVT Sports.
