The incident occurred around 8:45 PM local time on Carrera 17 with Calle 49A in the Normandía neighborhood, according to reports. Authorities say the victims were targeted by gunmen on a motorcycle who opened fire on a group of people.

Police have identified the deceased as Jesús Alberto Escorcia Orozco, 24; Emilio Nicolás Miranda Gutiérrez, 67; and Luis Alberto Romero Hernández, 68. The injured individual has been identified as Miguel Buelvas Mazeneth, 59.

“We require the competent authorities to quickly investigate and bring those responsible for the acts that claimed the lives of three Soledad residents this Saturday to justice,” the statement read, also requesting the “judicialization” of those responsible. The mayor’s office is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those involved in the shooting.

“We offer a reward for information that allows the National Police to locate and prosecute the material and intellectual authors of this regrettable event recorded in Normandía,” the statement continued. The case highlights the ongoing challenges with violence in the region.
