Soledad: Young Man Killed in Shooting – Colombia News

A 23-year-vintage man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in Soledad, Colombia, police reported. The incident, which likewise left another man wounded, underscores the ongoing challenges of violence in the region.

Luis Ángel Narváez Gutiérrez was identified as the victim, according to authorities. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Calle 85 and Carrera 10C in the Los Almendros III neighborhood.

Police said the two victims were engaged in conversation with others when two individuals on a motorcycle arrived at the scene. The passenger dismounted and opened fire on the group.

Those present attempted to flee, but two were struck by gunfire. Narváez Gutiérrez died at the scene, collapsing on the stairs of a nearby residence. The injured man was transported to a local hospital, but his identity has not yet been released.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting and have not yet released information regarding a possible motive. The case highlights the vulnerability of public spaces to sudden acts of violence.
