A passenger plane carrying 55 people made an emergency landing in the ocean shortly after takeoff from Mogadishu, Somalia, on February 10, 2026. Fortunately, authorities have confirmed there were no fatalities.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:17 PM local time, when the Starsky Aviation aircraft experienced a “technical problem” and was forced to land in shallow waters near Aden Adde International Airport (AAIA), according to a statement released by the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA).
