Sony has unveiled its LinkBuds Clip, open-ear wireless earbuds designed to maintain awareness of surroundings. Currently, Boulanger is offering them for €179.99, reduced from €199.99.
Unveiled ahead of the highly anticipated (and well-received) Sony WF-1000XM6, the newly launched Sony LinkBuds Clip occupy a unique space in the Japanese brand’s catalog. These are Sony’s first true wireless open-ear earbuds, clipping onto the ear rather than entering the ear canal. This design allows users to remain aware of their surroundings while enjoying audio, and avoids discomfort during extended listening sessions. Sony joins Huawei, Bose and Shokz, who previously entered this market. The LinkBuds Clip are currently available for under €180.
Key Features of the Sony LinkBuds Clip
- Comfortable Fit
- Compatibility with 360 Reality Audio
- Up to 37 Hours of Battery Life with Charging Case
Originally launched at €199.99, the Sony LinkBuds Clip are now available for €179.99 at Boulanger with the promo code AUDIO10.

Original and Comfortable Design
The Sony LinkBuds Clip are open-ear wireless earbuds, featuring a C-shaped design that doesn’t block the ear canal. This eliminates the need to search for the perfect silicone ear tip. Users simply clip the earbud onto the ear, positioning the larger part behind the ear and the smaller part in front. Removable adjustment cushions are also available for added comfort.
This design allows for comfortable, long-term wear without pressure or auditory fatigue. Users can naturally hear ambient sounds while listening to music, enhancing situational awareness. The Sony LinkBuds Clip are also IPX4 certified, meaning they are resistant to rain and sweat. However, the charging case is not waterproof.
Solid Battery Life
With this open design, sound is theoretically natural and expansive – a claim Sony is making. The company also provides three listening modes: standard, suitable for all music genres; “Voice Boost,” to amplify voices in noisy environments like train stations or shopping malls; and Sound Leakage Reduction, to minimize sound leakage and prevent colleagues from overhearing your music in an open office.
The earbuds also support 360 Reality Audio for a personalized, immersive listening experience. Naturally, the LinkBuds Clip are Bluetooth compatible and support the AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs. Multipoint connection is also possible. For calls, the earbuds feature two microphones and AI-based noise reduction technology to isolate the voice and reduce background noise.
Finally, Sony states that the earbuds can offer up to 37 hours of listening time with the charging case. And with fast charging, you get one hour of playback after just three minutes of charging.
