French television mainstays Sophie Davant and William Leymergie are extending their decades-long partnership into the realm of theater. The popular duo, who publicly confirmed their romantic relationship in 2022 after years as on-screen colleagues, will star in a new play titled “Replay,” set to premiere with a regional tour ahead of a 2027 run in Paris. Penned by Lorraine Lévy-sister of bestselling author Marc Lévy-the production promises an intimate look at their personal and professional journey, resonating with a public that has followed their careers for over 40 years.
Longtime partners Sophie Davant, 62, and William Leymergie, 78, are embarking on a new creative venture together. The beloved French television personalities will share the stage in “Replay,” a play written for them by Lorraine Lévy, sister of Marc Lévy, and Murielle Magellan. The production will begin with a regional tour before arriving in Paris in September 2027.
“The show will be entirely inspired by their love story with the public, a relationship that has lasted for over 40 years,” reads a statement released Thursday morning. “But also by their unique story, which they are now living together after a long professional complicity and an unwavering friendship,” the announcement continues. Davant and Leymergie confirmed their relationship in 2022.
“In the form of free, playful, unexpected, poetic, and moving scenes, the show will journey through their intimate history, with a nod to “When Harry Met Sally…” and through their great television adventure, which has become part of our collective memory,” the statement explains. This announcement is sure to excite fans of the iconic French duo.
Davant departed France Télévisions in 2025 after a 38-year tenure that began in 1987. She recently competed on the latest season of “Danse avec les stars” and now hosts “Les Histoires d’amour extraordinaires” on Europe 1, airing Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m. Leymergie, who presented “Télématin” on France 2 for three decades, hosted “William à midi !” on C8 until the channel’s closure. He currently appears on Europe 1 every Saturday at 5 p.m. with “Balades en France.”
