Valve has implemented a new feature in the latest beta update for its Steam client that allows users to attach their PC specifications when submitting reviews. This addition aims to provide more context for potential buyers and improve the overall transparency of game compatibility information.
Users Now Have the Option to Include PC Specs with Reviews
Currently available only to participants in the Steam client beta, the feature presents a “Attach PC specifications to this review” checkbox within the review submission form. Selecting this option will populate the review with the user’s detected PC hardware configuration. This feature reflects a broader industry trend toward providing more detailed system information to help gamers optimize their experiences.
The update also introduces an optional setting for SteamOS users to share anonymized frame rate data. This data, which is stored independently of Steam accounts, will be used to assess game compatibility and enhance the Steam platform. Valve stated this data collection is intended to improve the overall user experience.

In addition to these key features, the update includes improvements to the family settings layout and resolves a bug that could cause download restrictions to persist after streaming sessions ended. These refinements demonstrate Valve’s ongoing commitment to refining the Steam platform.
Joining the Client Beta
Users interested in testing the latest Steam features can opt-in to the client beta through the Steam settings menu. Navigate to the “Interface” tab and select “Change Beta Participation” to choose the beta version. A Steam restart and update are required after selecting the beta.
