Ratings surrounding Stefan Raab have consistently fallen short of record-breaking numbers for some time. Now, the host has hit a new low with his RTL show – despite restructuring the program.

After Stefan Raab became part of the “Jungle Camp” coverage and offered his grab on the camp’s events in a special edition of “The Stefan Raab Show” after “The Hour After,” RTL decided to continue placing the show in the late-night slot.
The network hoped this would increase reach and improve ratings, which have steadily declined in recent months. However, the latest figures show that this was merely wishful thinking.
“The Stefan Raab Show” Remains Unsuccessful
Following the positive experience with the “Jungle Camp,” moving the show from primetime to the late-night schedule was intended as a positive step forward.
“The Half Hour After the Hour” actually achieved a respectable market share of 19.1 percent (via inFranken.de).
However, the latest ratings are even more sobering, demonstrating that audiences simply have no interest in Raab’s late-night show.
On February 19, “The Stefan Raab Show” reached just 380,000 viewers. In the key demographic of 14- to 49-year-olds, these numbers represent a new all-time low: the market share fell to 3.6 percent, as reported by DWDL. This reach is significantly below RTL’s overall average.
RTL’s Plan for “The Stefan Raab Show” Fails to Materialize
The failure was also evident in the lowest viewership numbers ever recorded by the show on February 12: only 370,000 viewers tuned in that day.
The ratings slump also impacted other programming. Due to the necessitate to free up a late-night slot for Raab, the highlights of the Europa League match between Celtic Glasgow and VfB Stuttgart were moved to Nitro.
However, soccer fans didn’t seem particularly interested in switching channels after the game aired on RTL. An average of just 210,000 people watched the match highlights between 11:06 PM and midnight.
