The wife of the brother of a Brazilian Supreme Court justice, Ana Claudia Consani, authored the ethics code for Banco Master, a financial institution recently embroiled in controversy. The connection is drawing scrutiny from lawmakers as investigations into the bank continue.

Ana Claudia Consani de Moraes, the sister-in-law of Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, is listed as the author of Banco Master’s Code of Ethics. She is married to Leonardo de Moraes, the justice’s brother, and works as a consultant at the law firm of Viviane Barci de Moraes, the justice’s wife – who received approximately $80 million for 22 months of services rendered to the institution.

According to metadata from a PDF available on the Banco Master website, the document was created on April 8, 2025, and Consani is identified as its author.

The law firm Barci de Moraes confirmed in a statement released on March 9, 2026, that the creation of the document was among the deliverables provided to Daniel Vorcaro’s bank.

In addition to her role as a consultant at Barci de Moraes, Consani serves on integrity, ethics, and compliance committees for Petrobras, the São Paulo Bar Association, the Brazilian Institute of Business Law and Ethics, and the Brazilian Institute of Administrative Sanctioning Law.

On a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, Congressman Kim Kataguiri (Missão-SP) announced he filed a request to subpoena Consani to appear before the parliamentary commission investigating social security issues (CPMI do INSS) on March 11. Kataguiri also stated he requested the justice himself be summoned to the commission.

BARCI DE MORAES LAW FIRM

The Barci de Moraes firm received $80.223.654.94 from Banco Master for services provided between February 2024 and November 2025. The contract for services lasted 22 months and was terminated after Daniel Vorcaro was first arrested during Operation Compliance Zero.

The firm charged monthly fees of $3.646.529.77. The original contract stipulated a duration of 36 months, and details of the agreement have been circulating since December 2025.

In a statement released on March 9, the firm of Viviane Barci stated it held 94 work meetings with Banco Master, totaling 267 hours.
