On n’avait pas de nouvelles de la compagnie aérienne, et donc fatalement, on bookait au jour le jour, sans savoir combien de temps on allait rester. C’était très difficile de planifier un retour dans ces conditions-là.

Le sourire reste présent mais l’agacement pointe : “Quand on nous a annoncé cette date-là, on s’est dit qu’on devait trouver une alternative. On ne peut pas perdre autant de temps, il y a énormément de conséquences, il y a des gens qui nous attendent ici, on a du travail, il y a l’école pour les enfants, et on ne peut pas continuer à creuser un déficit aussi élevé pour chaque jour de logement, de nourriture, etc. Donc voilà, on a dû trouver des solutions par nous-mêmes.”

People are waiting for us here, we have work, there’s school for the children, and we can’t continue to run up such a high deficit for each day of lodging and food, etc. So, we had to find solutions ourselves.”
