HyperMegaTech has announced a special edition of its Super Pocket handheld gaming device, developed in collaboration with British game developer Rare Limited. The Super Pocket Rare Edition will come pre-loaded with 14 classic games from Rare, including popular titles like Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads, and Jetpac, and will also be compatible with Evercade cartridges for expanded game libraries.
The handheld’s design pays homage to Rare, featuring a vibrant red front panel accented by bright yellow buttons and the Rare logo positioned below the front-facing speaker. The back of the device sports a blue shade similar to that of the Super Pocket Capcom Edition, with the L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons also finished in the same bright yellow hue.
The Rare Edition maintains the same specifications as other Super Pocket variants, including a 2.8-inch IPS display with a 320×240 resolution, a 1.2GHz processor, and a battery offering approximately 4 hours of gameplay. The device will be available for $69 in the United States, £49 in the United Kingdom, and €59 in Europe, with pre-orders available from select retailers. Official launch is scheduled for June 26, 2026.
