Světlana Nálepková’s Beroun Home Blends Rustic Charm With Industrial Shipping Containers

Czech actress and singer Světlana Nálepková has traded the hustle of city life for a unique sanctuary in the Křivoklátsko region. Her residence in Zdejcina, near Stradonice in the Beroun district, is far from a typical celebrity retreat; it is a daring architectural juxtaposition where a century-classic country cottage meets cutting-edge industrial design.

The heart of the property is a historic cottage, over a hundred years old, which Nálepková painstakingly restored from an abandoned state. Rather than opting for a sterile, modern overhaul, the artist focused on a sensitive adaptation that preserves the home’s rural soul. The interior is a personal reflection of her tastes, featuring natural materials like wood and rattan, accented by colorful decorations and a large green tiled stove that warms the entire house.

Nálepková’s hands-on approach extends to her furnishings. She frequently breathes new life into vintage pieces, painting and repurposing old furniture to create a space filled with books, personal treasures, and souvenirs from her travels. This commitment to authenticity makes her home one of the most intriguing residences among Czech public figures.

Adding a bold twist to the landscape is a modern structure built from shipping containers, which the actress calls her “outlook.” This stylish addition serves as a multifunctional hub for relaxation, yoga, and her work as a life coach. This blend of traditional country living and unexpected modern architecture highlights a growing trend of celebrities seeking sustainable, eclectic escapes that prioritize mental well-being over luxury.

The property spans approximately 3,000 square meters, though Nálepková admits she has stepped back from ambitious gardening. “I gave up on watering; either it grows, or it doesn’t. The only things I water are the flowers in pots and herbs,” she shared, noting that she has since made peace with a lawn dominated by grass.

The home also serves as a multigenerational hub. Nálepková lives there with her daughter, Josefína, and her daughter’s family, who occupy the upper part of the house. The family maintains a close bond, often sharing meals in their outdoor kitchen. While the household typically consists of five or six people, the space is designed for hospitality, capable of hosting up to fifteen guests.

For the 64-year-old star, the move to the countryside was about finding peace and a connection to nature. Reflecting on the absolute stillness of the Beroun region, she noted with a smile, “There is an incredible peace here and you sleep like the dead.”
