The Swiss women’s national football team has announced its roster for upcoming qualifying matches, beginning a journey toward the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

The team will be without Smilla Vallotto as they aim for crucial victories in their qualifying campaign, according to Blick.

A public training session is scheduled for February 25th at La Tuilière, offering fans a chance to see the team prepare, as reported by Schweizerischer Fussballverband.

The Swiss team is preparing for the qualifying stage, with their sights set on reaching the 2027 tournament, which will be the 10th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, as detailed on the FIFA website.

Brazil will host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the Brazilian women’s national team currently holds the 4th position in the FIFA rankings as of June 12, 2025. The team, known as “Seleção,” “As Canarinhas,” or “Verde-Amarela,” has a rich history in the sport, including nine Copa América titles (1991, 1995, 1998, 2003, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2025) and a silver medal at the 2004, 2008, and 2024 Olympic Games, according to Wikipedia.

Rafaelle Souza captains the squad, while Formiga holds the record for most appearances with 234 caps, and Marta is the team’s all-time leading scorer with 122 goals. Brazil’s first official match was a 2-1 loss to the United States on July 22, 1986. Their largest victories include 15-0 wins over both Bolivia (January 18, 1995) and Peru (March 2, 1998), while their biggest defeat was a 6-0 loss to the United States on September 26, 1999.

The team, under the guidance of coach Arthur Elias, will look to build on their strong Copa América record and Olympic performances as they compete in the upcoming qualifying matches.
